CZW’s Dojo Wars III Results
Well, since I don’t have anything to do on Wednesday nights, and the CZW Academy is only 20 minutes from my house, every other week I’ll be attending Dojo Wars, their bi-weekly “House Show”. It’s 5 matches for 5 bucks, how can you go wrong with that? Since the only way to see the show is to be there, and only a very limited number of people can fit in the place, I’ll let you in on all the details with a full results list, pictures and match breakdown.
Results:
- Conor Claxton defeated Frankie Pickard
- Nate Carter defeated Champ Champagne
- Sozio defeated David McCall
- Joe Gacey defeated Jay Diesel
- John E Rock, Shanna, Kimber Lee, & Qefka the Quiet defeated Jamelle Harris, Brooke Danielle, Brittany Blake, & Amasis The Funky Pharaoh
Up first again this week was a rematch between Conor Claxton and Frankie Pickard. Like last week, it was a pretty quick match, but I think it was much improved from their last dance together. There was still a whole ton of arm drags and arm bars, but they sold it pretty well, with Pickard really favoring his left shoulder as Claxton kept working it over. Pickard managed to get in a really mean looking German suplex, but yet again came up short against a cross arm bar and tapped out.

Up next was Nate Carter up against Champ Champagne. The match was slow to start, with Champagne saying he didn’t want to wrestle Carter, Carter then making fun of Champaign’s sparkly MC Hammer pants, and the crowd chanting they should have a thumb war. They almost were down for that, but as they were about to lock up, Carter kneed Champagne right in the gut. Carter then took a running lunge at Champagne in the corner, but Champagne moved out of the way and went right into the post and out of the ring, landing with a nasty thud. Champagne rolled Carter back into the ring and applied an armbar, but Carter picked him up and slammed him back down. Carter got off a nice suplex, which Champagne then countered with a swinging neck breaker. Carter got the win after some crazy powerbomb that actually flipped Champagne in mid air while he was doing it so he landed on his face instead of his back.

After that was probably the best match of the night, minus the finish, in Sozio vs. David McCall. This was another slow burner, but once it got going it was really intense. It started off with them feeling each other out like a Street Fighter II fight, just dancing around each other and lots of spin kicks. Eventually the action spilled out of the ring. McCall got off an Undertaker style leg drop off the apron right across Sozio’s throat. The ref tonight was pretty crappy, and was always out of position and wasn’t counting anyone out or really making any calls. After he recovered, Sozio grabbed a steel chair, lunged it into McCall’s stomach, then slammed him down head first onto it, all with no action from the ref. I know it’s Combat Zone Wrestling, but this match wasn’t made with any stipulations, and it should have been a disqualification. Even after taking the head shot, McCall got up and hit a big cross body from the top rope and rolled through it for a pin, but it was only a two count. He then hit a big DDT that flipped Sozio right over on his head. But that didn’t stop Sozio, who whipped McCall into the corner in a daze, then hit a mean superkick. He then tried to get off some type of Diamond Cutter from the top rope, but botched it pretty bad, throwing him too far and causing him to land on his shoulder hard, and McCall was nearly knocked out. I could see in his eyes he was pretty dazed, but he managed a few short counters but took a pin shortly after. He seemed fine afterwards watching the rest of matches, but we’ll see how he is next event.

After that was Joe Gacy vs. Jay Diesel. Diesel had the whole Batista thing going on, including spearing Gacey right out of the ring. Gacey managed to get his composure and laid in wait in the corner, faking he was out and countering with a stiff clothesline when Diesel came charging in at him. Gacey managed to get the pin after landing a cross body from the top rope.

The main event of the night was a fast paced frenzy of a match, being an 8 person intergender tag team elimination match. The teams were Johnny Rodd, Shanna, Kimber Lee, & Qefka the Quiet against Jamel Harris, Brooke Danielle, Brittany Blake, & Amasis The Funky Pharaoh. Everything was so fast, really the only way to cover this is the eliminations list.
- Brooke Danielle eliminated by Kimber Lee by submission with a cross arm bar.
- John E Rock eliminated by pinfall by Jamelle Harris after a knee from the top rope.
- Jamelle Harris eliminated by no contest as he cannot answer the ref after being the victim of the slingshot
- Shanna eliminated by Brittany Blake by pinfall after she hits Stratisfaction
- Brittney Blake eliminated by pinfall after taking cheap shots from Kimber Lee during the fallout of Shanna’s elimination.
- Kimber Lee eliminated by Amasis by pinfall during the fallout of Brittany Blake’s elimination.
- Amasis eliminated by Qefka the Quiet by pinfall using Mime Time crucifix pin.
John E Rock picked up Brittany Blake for a sidewalk slam, but spun her around like 15 times first before slamming her to the mat. However, she got the hot tag which then led to
Qefka then became the legal man in and mimed that he brought a giant slingshot with him that stretched from corner to corner. After setting up the slingshot, he tagged in Kimber Lee, and used the slingshot to propel her into a dazed Harris in the opposite corner, leading to
The next three happened in very quick succession, and I missed most of the details of the second two, as I was still writing down my notes on the first one.
Winner: Qefka the Quiet

Forgive me if I goof on some names and spellings, I try to research them as best I can, but many of the participants at these shows are new wrestlers so there isn’t anything online about them yet and I have to go by what I think I hear.
