Here is the second part of last week’s video about Music Stars of 1991. Even so, it still had far too much focus on bands of the 70’s for some reason.
Man, did 10 year old me loved “The Party” for some reason. I was a dumb 10 year old with no taste, what can I say? But that doesn’t mean Disney+ shouldn’t re-release Kids Incorporated. Come on man, check out this list: Jennifer Love Hewitt, Mario Lopez, Eric Balfour, Martika, Fergie. YOU’RE LEAVING MONEY ON THE TABLE!
This week’s unboxing is a little off formula, since it’s not about wrestling or Star Trek, but instead the biggest music (well, rap and hair metal) stars of 1991. This was so big, I had to split it in two, so come back next week for more.
In the 90’s, they gave card sets to just about everything. There is clearly some record company shenanigans here, as tons of huge acts from 1991 are missing for what I can only assume are money related licensing issues.

Saturday Seven – Modern Christmas Songs
I have been holding onto this list for like 5 years. It’s always been in the hopper, it just never got done. But with Christmas being on a Sunday this year, I don’t think I’m ever going to get a better year to actually pull the trigger and do the damn thing, so here we go. And because I’m indecisive and that’s part of why this took so long, I just went ahead and made it supersized, like an old school episode of The Office, and bumped it up from 6 songs to 7. As you can see, my concept of Christmas was formed watching MTV in about 1987.
Sorry it’s been awhile since I’ve had one of these. I haven’t had a good idea in a while. This one was suggested to me, and it’s kind of hard to explain. Basically, this is a list of songs that when you hear them you go “Oh yeah, that’s that song from [fill in the blank]”. I think you’ll get it once you see the list.
The Alameda Music Project, a tuition-free after school program that brings music to young children, has announced a Humble Bundle featuring some games and a massive amount of music.

Saturday Six – First Concerts You Ever Attended
Last week I talked about how I didn’t get to attend the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ Coming Out of Their Shells tour. So this week I thought I’d go through a list of tours that I actually did get to attend. Only music tours though, so no discussing my trips to the Ice Capades, or the Masters of the Universe Power Tour, the He-Man and She-Ra themed roller skate tour (yes, that was a real thing that I actually attended in 1987 when I was 6).

Saturday Six – First Music You Ever Purchased
So this week marked the 50th release in the Now That’s What I Call Music series here in the States, which is a lot of crappy pop music, going back to 1998. This got me to thinking about all the crappy pop music I used to listen to as a kid, so I’ll embarrass myself and share the list of the first 6 pieces of music (non Pocket Rocker) I ever paid my own money for.
People who have been fans of rhythm games long before Guitar Hero put the genre in the mainstream light were likely huge fans of a game called Amplitude. After more than 10 years, Harmonix is bringing back the game that helped start it all, and they’re looking to their long time fans and Kickstarter to help make it happen.
