Today the first of my Dino Drac Fun Packs arrived. So here’s my unboxing video, including me eating 25 year old cereal. It’s much better than the gum in 25 year old packs of baseball cards. And I’m not dead, so that’s a plus. . .

Since today’s Friday Five was all about Burgers, I thought I’d republish this piece about me eating a Luther, rather than send you to its original location on my old livejournal. Come watch me stuff my face full of meat!

My taste in burgers can pretty much be summed up by Ron Swanson – “It’s a hamburger made out of meat on a bun with nothing. Add ketchup if you want, I couldn’t care less.” If you put quality meat on a bun and don’t cook the shit out of it, it’s delicious. Since, as I’ve discussed before, I can’t handle ketchup or mustard, I don’t get a lot of fast food burgers, so I went a bit out of the box on my picks.

I’m no snob when it comes to food. I’ll try pretty much anything at least one. I’ve have foie gras sushi. I’ve had anchovies on my pizza. I’ve even had Limburger cheese. But some foods, basic though they may be, I just can’t stand.

After weeks of speculation, this morning it was finally confirmed by General Mills. For the first time ever all five monster cereals will be released at the same time. That means not only will you be getting your standard Boo Berry, Franken Berry, and Count Chocula this Halloween, you also get new versions of Frute Brute and Yummy Mummy!

A long time ago, I used to work as a overnight delivery driver. (OK, I was a paperboy.) That meant I was up and out from about 1am to 6am. One thing that always bugged me when I worked third shift was the availability of a decent meal, particularly breakfast, at that time of night. If I wanted a real breakfast sandwich to go when I woke up at midnight, I didn’t really have a choice except for a frozen Jimmy Dean’s biscuit since, being a east coaster, we don’t have any 24 hour Jack in the Boxs, Sonics, or Waffle Houses. Otherwise I would have to wait until 6:30 AM and have breakfast for lunch. Well, finally someone is paying attention to third shifters (and drunk people) who want a drive thru breakfast at 3 AM (well, if they are drunk hopefully a sober friend takes them there, as they won’t serve your drunk ass if you just walk up to the window), because McDonald’s is testing out offering breakfast at its 24 hour McDonald’s in Ohio starting as early as midnight.

While we aren’t quite yet in the future days of food pills and dehydrated pizzas, we do seem to be getting ever closer. A few years ago Wawa pushed out their f’real milkshake machines, which are awesome, because where else are you gonna get a milkshake at 3 am? Nowhere, that’s where. But now, at 7-Eleven’s in Singapore, they also have hot mashed potato machines, with gravy. Whhaaaaaaa? Check out this video action.

In an effort to try to reclaim some market share over the summer, and keeping in line with their new broader menu of smoothies and other things that aren’t entirely terrible for you, Burger King will be adding some new limited time items to its menu this week. They are playing up on the whole “flame broiled” thing, and going with a summer cookout type theme for these items, which includes a Memphis Pulled Pork BBQ Sandwich, Carolina or Texas BBQ Whopper (the difference between them I don’t know, I assume different style sauce) and Sweet Potato fries. But while those sound intriguing from a place that historically focused on burgers, the one the really interests me is the new Bacon Sundae. You read that right. BACON SUNDAE.
