Amplitude

People who have been fans of rhythm games long before Guitar Hero put the genre in the mainstream light were likely huge fans of a game called Amplitude. After more than 10 years, Harmonix is bringing back the game that helped start it all, and they’re looking to their long time fans and Kickstarter to help make it happen.

Amplitude, originally released in March of 2003, was a sequel to Frequency that helped set the groundwork for just about every other music based game to come in the following decade. Featuring addictive gameplay and sporting a song list that featured artists ranging from Run DMC to Slipknot and everything in between, it grew a strong fanbase and received equally strong reviews. I’d say it’s a safe bet that their Kickstarter goal will be reached, and the game will make a triumphant comeback.

As of this writing, the project has 17 days left to reach its goal, and it’s at about $135,000 reached out of the $775,000 goal. If you would like to contribute to this (and get some pretty sweet stuff for doing so), then you can check it out on their kickstarter.

has been into gaming and just about everything nerdy or out of the norm for as long as he can remember. He likes to keep an open mind about things, but also has a strangely high amount of fun getting into a rant or good debate. . . which is probably why he was recruited to this site in the first place.
