To Friday Five, Video Games

Welcome to the Friday Five! Each week I help you get to know me a bit better with the help of a top 5 list. This weeks category: Games You Keep Playing.

Everyone has a set of games they go back to over and over again. Sometimes it’s for the challenge. Sometimes it’s for nostalgia. Some games don’t ever have an ending. Some games have different endings to get. Sometimes games are so impossible you just have to try one more time to get past that one killer stage.

  1. Bad News Baseball – You can’t ever really “beat” it, but I’m down for a game anytime, anywhere. It’s pretty much all I use my Wii for. I’ve been trying for years to pitch a perfect game in it. I think it’s impossible. I have thrown a no hitter though. Once. In 32 years.
  2.

  3. Mega Man 2 – I can beat the whole thing in like 20 minutes, but those are always a fun filled twenty minutes. I’ll play it sometimes just to listen to the music.
  4.

  5. Battletoads – I’d like to think, sometime before I die, I’ll be able beat stage 3 on the speederbikes. I try every few years. Still never happens.
  6.

  7. Civilization II – Still the best version in my opinion. I’ll go back and play for a week every few years. Anything more and I’ll get addicted and just not do anything else for weeks on end.
  8.

  9. Dragon Warrior/Quest I – To this day, I still have most of the maps memorized.
