Super Heroes
Welcome to the Friday Five! Each week I help you get to know our me a bit better with the help of a top 5 list. This weeks category: Heroes.

Everybody needs some role models, someone to look up to. Someone who does heroic deeds selflessly for the good of others. Making the tough choices that no one else can for the greater good. Even if they themselves don’t get to partake, and have to rename nameless and faceless. As someone once said, sometimes the needs of the many, outweighs the needs of the few, or the one.

This week I didn’t get to put as much thought into this as I usually do, as I’ve been in prep mode for and then manning a booth over at Wizard World.

  1. Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) – He gets shit on a lot, but he’s probably the most powerful person in the DCU. Also, I just love the ring.
  2.

  3. Luke Skywalker – The kid single handedly (see what I did there?) took down an entire evil space empire. Thats pretty heroic.
  4.

  5. Spider-Man – Come on, why not? He’s a good role model, if only for the whole “great power/great responsibility” thing.
  6.

  7. Cyclops – I know I’m in the minority here, but I still love him. 90’s cartoon Cyclops was an awesome dude with his leather vest, I would totally follow him into battle.
  8.

  9. A tie between Batman and Superman – This is such a hard choice. Batman is just so smart and such a badass, and will pretty much win any fight with enough planning. Superman is invincible, so long as he’s in sunlight, and he’s so wholesome and good, what with the truth, justice, and American Way. Either one makes you want to put on a cape and fight crime, so it’s a tie.

Cyclops

is the proud owner of a life size replica Captain Kirk Chair. He is a hoarder of Comic Books, Transformers, and Star Trek action figures. He attended Space Camp as an adult. He has taken vacations to the closing of the Star Trek Experience and the final night Shuttle launch. He has been known to yell at his television when the kids can't put together the damn statue in the Shrine of the Silver Monkey. When not writing for InsufficientScotty, he is a Software Engineer for a major healthcare communications company.
