The Console Wars are in full swing. To celebrate, I’m taking this time to go back and pick the best games of all the previous generations that I think You (Probably) Should Have Played, one letter at a time.

Check out all the other entries in the Games You (Probably) Should Have Played series if you haven’t already.

7th Guest (PC – 1993)
The 7th Guest was one of the very first games released exclusively on CD-ROM. It featured an unprecedented (for 1993) amount of Full Motion Video and Pre Rendered 3D graphics. It may seem a bit quaint nowadays, being mostly a series of puzzle minigames connected by cut scenes, but back then it was a huge move forward in technology, and one of the games (alongside Myst and Rebel Assault) that showed CD based rather than cartridge based gaming was the wave of the future. The story wasn’t half bad, and I still to this day have never beaten the Reversi puzzle.

He has taken vacations to the closing of the Star Trek Experience and the final night Shuttle launch. He has been known to yell at his television when the kids can't put together the damn statue in the Shrine of the Silver Monkey. When not writing for InsufficientScotty, he is a Software Engineer for a major healthcare communications company.
