To Friday Five, Video Games

Game Gear

Welcome to the Friday Five, where each week I help you get to know me a bit better with the help of a Top 5 list. This week’s topic: Video Game Consoles.

Well, this ought to we a easy week, as I only ever had 6 consoles in my life. I’ll leaving out my Wii, as I haven’t turned it on in 3 years, and all I ever did with it was hack it into a NES emulator to play Bad News Baseball.

  1. Atari 2600 – I never would have gotten anything else, until a friend jammed the controller into the console so hard it broke the plug off the board, getting me an upgrade to. . .
  2.

  3. Nintendo Entertainment System – I only ever had like 10 games for this, and most of them sucked, like Golf and Captain Skyhawk. My mom absconded with it to play Tetris and Dr. Mario.
  4.

  5. Game Gear – I had even fewer games for this, but me and a friend both bought Super Columns to play on the plane during our senior trip, complete with link cable strewn across the aisle..
  6.

  7. Playstation 2 – I bought this for myself in college specifically to play DDR. Yes, I used to be that guy. I no longer have the knees for more than 2 songs in a row.
  8.

  9. XBox 360 – I bought this to play Rock Band, but I don’t even know where the instruments are. I basically just use it to stream media from my laptop from my TV when they aren’t right next to each other.
