To Games You (Probably) Should Have Played

O

The Console Wars are in full swing. To celebrate, I’m taking this time to go back and pick the best games of all the previous generations that I think You (Probably) Should Have Played, one letter at a time.

Check out all the other entries in the Games You (Probably) Should Have Played series if you haven’t already.

Outrun (ARC – 1986)
Not a lot of good choices here in the O’s. It was down to this and Operation: Wolf, and this gets the pick because there are much better light gun games (Terminator 2 and Revolution X). Outrun is pretty much ubiquitous in any SEGA arcade and hard to avoid having played. It was one of the first racing games that was non-linear, and it also let you pick your racing music by changing the radio station.
