The Console Wars are in full swing. To celebrate, I’m taking this time to go back and pick the best games of all the previous generations that I think You (Probably) Should Have Played, one letter at a time.

Check out all the other entries in the Games You (Probably) Should Have Played series if you haven’t already.

Pac-Man (ARC – 1980)
Do I really need to explain Pac-Man to you? Pac-Man Fever was huge at the turn of the 80’s, leading to Disco songs, a Saturday Morning cartoon, a Chef Boyardee pasta, the works. It was the arcade game that lead to the home video game system revolution, more so than Pong. While it sucked due to technical limitation of the machine, which meant the ghosts and Pac-Man were never on screen at the same time due to scan rate issues, almost every single Atari 2600 had a copy. That’s $37.99 times 7 million consoles equals a butt-ton of cash. And that doesn’t include the extra 5 million carts they produced that was over the count of systems they made, and all ended up in a landfill besides all the unsold copies of E.T.

He has taken vacations to the closing of the Star Trek Experience and the final night Shuttle launch.
