Ever wonder what happens when you take musician and horror director Rob Zombie, team him up with Walking Dead co-creator Tony Moore, and task them with telling a story of the French Revolution for Assassin’s Creed? Turns out, you get a whole lot of blood and gore. Who would’ve thought?

This rather long trailer tells a mostly historically accurate tale of the kind of corruption, greed and violence behind the French Revolution era. Failed kings, false leaders, public executions and government collapse all set the backdrop for the upcoming Assassin’s Creed: Unity – just the stuff you’d want to see to get the old hidden blades ready for some fancy stabbing and slicing all over again. Zombie’s love of violent horror and Moore’s attention to detail and accuracy really shine through here, to the point where I’d say these two should pair up more often . . . well, at least on bigger things anyway, since Moore has done some of the artwork for Rob’s comic covers in the past.

Still, this is worth watching even if you prefer comics over games, as there’s some top notch art and animation going on here. Assassin’s Creed: Unity hits shelves on October 28 for pretty much every current gaming platform.

has been into gaming and just about everything nerdy or out of the norm for as long as he can remember. He likes to keep an open mind about things, but also has a strangely high amount of fun getting into a rant or good debate. . . which is probably why he was recruited to this site in the first place.
