During today’s Gamescom showcase, Sony released a “demo” for a new horror game on the PlayStation 4’s Store. Without saying much else about it outside of it being a new horror title, players rushed to give it a try. After navigating the various creepy hallways and rooms, it was revealed that the title is Silent Hills, the new installment in the long running franchise. What really makes this announcement special, however, are the people involved this time around.

Behind the scenes, the game is in the hands of Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima, as well as Guillermo del Toro, the director of Pan’s Labyrinth, Pacific Rim and Hellboy among others. On screen, the game’s lead character is played by Norman Reedus, most famously known for his roles in The Boondock Saints and The Walking Dead. Needless to say, that is one hell of a trio, and I personally can’t think of a better franchise for these three to come together on.

Unfortunately, I can’t play this reveal demo for myself. If it’s any indication of what the final product will be like, then this is going to be one that horror fans of all kinds should not miss. It’s been quite a long time since I’ve been excited for a new Silent Hill game, but I already want this one now. If you’re stuck without a PS4 like me, you can check out the trailer of the demo below (titled “P.T.” because the real name was a surprise), or you can go download and play it for yourself now . . . you lucky jerk.

has been into gaming and just about everything nerdy or out of the norm for as long as he can remember. He likes to keep an open mind about things, but also has a strangely high amount of fun getting into a rant or good debate. . . which is probably why he was recruited to this site in the first place.
