CZW’s Dojo Wars 23 Results
Well, since I don’t have anything to do on Wednesday nights, and the CZW Academy is only 20 minutes from my house, every other week I’ll be attending Dojo Wars, their bi-weekly “House Show”. It’s 5 matches for 5 bucks, how can you go wrong with that? Because the only way to see the show is to be there, and only a very limited number of people can fit in the place, I’ll let you in on all the details with a full results list, pictures and match breakdown.
Results:
- Rex Lawless defeated George Gatton
- Brittany Blake defeated Dan O’Hare
- Josh Adams defeated Frankie Pikard
- Joey Janella defeated Matt Macintosh
- Joe Gacy defeated Trooper Audubon to retain the Wired Championship
- Conon Claxton defeated Stockade to retain the Medal of Valor
George Gatton vs. Rex Lawless
The major thing to take away here is that Gatton trimmed up his beard. He no longer has the wild man look to him, to his detriment. Lawless started off mocking Gatton and his size, asking him how much he weighed, even though it had just been announced in his introduction (it’s 161 pounds). Lawless then declared himself the new “Booty Daddy”, and made his pecs dance. Gatton got in a few of his patented chops, and had a nice Sunset Flip to Superkick combo, but that wasn’t enough to keep the big man down. Lawless picked up the win with a Sitout Powerbomb.
Winner: Rex Lawless

Brittany Blake vs. Dan O’Hare
Another size mismatch. O’Hare was much more aggressive here than he’s been the last few weeks. He used to size to his advantage, regularly picking Brittany out of the air to stop her offense. He gave her a nice Snap Mare, followed by a loud stiff kick to the back. Brittany hit a bulldog from the corner, followed by a Missile Dropkick. She then threw Dan out of the ring, and executed another dive to the outside like she did last week. Unfortunately more people were in attendance this week, so there were no empty chairs to land in and she had to pull herself back a bit. Brittany picked up the win when an Enzuguri left Dan dazed, and she finished him off with a Double Foot Stomp to the back from the top turnbuckle.
Winner: Brittany Blake
Bell Time: 6:59

Josh Adams vs. Frankie Pikard
Adams started the match with an angry promo yelling at Pikard and all the other students that they were taking his place. Adams complained that he’s been in the business for 8 years while Pikard has only been in for about a year, but Pikard is more over. Adams worked over Pikard’s left knee for nearly the entire match, hitting it with series of kicks and submission attempts. While Pikard was down nursing his knee, Adams turned to yell at Curt Robinson at ringside that he didn’t deserve his spot either. This momentary distraction cost Adams, as Pikard capitalized and hit him with 3 Belly To Belly Suplexes in a row without release. Adams got back up and went back to work on Pikard’s knee, even as the ref tried to hold him off. Adams pushed the ref aside, threw on his knee lock submission, and forced Pikard to tap out. I’m not certain how serious the knee injuries were, but Pikard was limping about using a steel chair for support afterwards, so I hope everything is OK.
Winner: Josh Adams

Joey Janella vs. Matt Macintosh
Newcomer to the Dojo Matt Macintosh put up a very strong first showing. He came right out of the gate with a Frankensteiner – Running Elbow – Dropkick combo. Janella then threw Macintosh outside the ring straight into the wall, leaving him dangling. Janella then climbed to the top and hit him with the Legdrop to bounce him back into the ring. Macintosh hit a Handspring Elbow off the ropes, but Janella turned the tides. He hit Macintosh with a Superkick, then a Sitout Powerbomb, and then followed that with a Moonsault from the top turnbuckle all in quick succession, but Macintosh managed to kick out at two. Macintosh then hit an insane Curb Stomp, jumping maybe 5 feet straight up in the air to hit a barely even slummed over Janella. Even after an awesome move like that, Macintosh just couldn’t capitalize, falling victim to a Figure Four and being forced to tap.
Winner: Joey Janella

Trooper Audubon vs. Joe Gacy
After the prior match, this one wasn’t as exciting. It was still a good match, but honestly, Trooper was just way out of his league against Gacy. The best part of the match was the crowd heckling Trooper that his tattoo looks like a Christmas Tree. He says it’s a dragon face, but it really does look like a upside down Christmas tree. Continuing the pattern of submission wins, Gacy forced the tapout with a Rings of Saturn. After the bell it looked like Trooper was going to try to talk to Gacy and maybe even shake his hand, but Gacy just Powerbombed him and left.
Winner: Joe Gacy
Bell Time: 9:18

Conor Claxton vs. Stockade
This was a fun match, but a little slow, because Stockade is a big dude who can’t exactly move with a great deal of speed. Conor went right in for the Cross Armbreaker picking up the first fall early. A stiff elbow from Stockade knocked one of Conor’s plugs clear out of his ear and rolling across the ring and onto the floor. Stockade hit an Exploder Suplex into the corner, and followed it with a Fireman’s Carry Slam for the second fall. Stockade then delivered a Piledriver for a near fall. Stockade then set Conor up on the top turnbuckle and went for a Superplex. Somehow, Conor was able to reverse it into a Sunset Flip Powerbomb without dying. He then climbed to the top and dropped the leg on Stockade to retain the Medal of Valor.
- Conor Claxton forced Stocked to submit to the Cross Armbreaker
- Stockade pinned Conor Claxton after a Fireman’s Carry Slam
- Conor Claxton pinned Stockade after a Legdrop from the top turnbuckle
Winner: Conor Claxton
Bell Time: 12:33
