Welcome to the Friday Five. Each week I help you get to know me a bit better with the help of a Top 5 List. This week’s topic: Pokemon!

I never had a Game Boy when I was a kid (I did have a Game Gear though), so I never really played the games. I’ve played Red/Blue about 50% through on emulator, but never managed to finish, and if you can’t battle against real people it gets pretty pointless. I however played a lot of Pokemon Snap and Pokemon Stadium against my friend’s little brother. I also skipped many a class in college to watch the first season episodes.

  1. Meowth – He is the shit! One of the few pokemon who can talk (and he doesn’t even need to use phsyic to do it!), I always enjoyed his humor and bad puns. And we all know who the boss was of Team Rocket! I even have a production animation cel of him.
  2.

  3. Croagunk – Two years ago I cosplayed as Brock at Otakon, and had one on my shoulder all weekend. I also like how he always kicks Brock’s ass when he goes apeshit over a girl.
  4.

  5. Jigglypuff – Always under valued, when she gets mad, shit is about to get real!
  6.

  7. Psyduck – I’m always a sucker for broad physical comedy, and who didn’t love how pissed of he’d make Misty every episode.
  8.

  9. Lugia – “Disturb not the harmony of fire, ice or lightning, lest these titans wreak destruction upon the world in which they clash. Though the water’s great guardian shall arise to quell the fighting, alone its song will fail, and thus the earth shall turn to Ash. O Chosen One, into thine hands bring together all three. Their treasures combined tame the Beast of the Sea.” – I absolutely love Pokemon 2000, and who wouldn’t like a pokemon who is more powerful than all three of the legendary birds put together, and he teaches us a lesson in tolerance and cooperation while he’s at it.

Meowth

is the proud owner of a life size replica Captain Kirk Chair. He is a hoarder of Comic Books, Transformers, and Star Trek action figures. He attended Space Camp as an adult. He has taken vacations to the closing of the Star Trek Experience and the final night Shuttle launch. He has been known to yell at his television when the kids can't put together the damn statue in the Shrine of the Silver Monkey. When not writing for InsufficientScotty, he is a Software Engineer for a major healthcare communications company.
