Friday Five – Favorite TV Characters

To Friday Five, Television

Ron Swanson

Welcome to the Friday Five! Each week I help you get to know me a bit better with the help of a top 5 list! This week’s category: Favorite TV Characters.

Last week, I discussed my least favorite TV characters. So, this week I show the other side of that coin, and list the TV characters that I love.

I limited myself to shows currently airing new episodes, because all time favorites would be a very different list.

  1. Abed NadirCommunity – While I would vehemently disagree with some peoples’ idea last week of Jeff Winger for least favoritew, as his “Winger Speeches” are what generally tie together a episode, Abed is a much funnier and more identifiable character week to week.
  2.

  3. Randy Marsh South Park – I initially put down for this entry Eric Cartman, but when you really think about it, in the last few years, the best episodes of the show have really turned themselves over to being less about the kids and more about Stan’s dad and all his craziness.
  4.

  5. Adam Goldberg The Goldbergs – If you aren’t watching this show after Agents of S.H.E.I.L.D., you really need to be. Adam is basically the embodiment of every nerdy boy who grew up in the 80’s.
  6.

  7. Ron SwansonParks and Rec – I have the “Pyramid of Greatness” hanging up on my desk at work right this moment. A true man’s man, what’s not to love?
  8.

  9. Louie C.K. Louie – A somewhat fictionalized version of the real Louie, he never fails to make me laugh at some of the most honest or surreal things, like a homeless man getting decapitated by a garbage truck. Trust me, it was way funnier than it sounds.

Adam Goldberg

How awesome is this kids bedroom?

is the proud owner of a life size replica Captain Kirk Chair. He is a hoarder of Comic Books, Transformers, and Star Trek action figures. He attended Space Camp as an adult. He has taken vacations to the closing of the Star Trek Experience and the final night Shuttle launch. He has been known to yell at his television when the kids can't put together the damn statue in the Shrine of the Silver Monkey. When not writing for InsufficientScotty, he is a Software Engineer for a major healthcare communications company.
