To Games You (Probably) Should Have Played, Star Wars

R

The Console Wars are in full swing. To celebrate, I’m taking this time to go back and pick the best games of all the previous generations that I think You (Probably) Should Have Played, one letter at a time.

Check out all the other entries in the Games You (Probably) Should Have Played series if you haven’t already.

(Star Wars:) Rebel Assault (PC – 1993)
A bit of a cheat to make it fit, but it’s still a great game. It may be hard to believe now, but there was a time where there was no new Star Wars content. This was the closest Star Wars fans had in 1993, as it had newly filmed FMVs. Sure, it was just some no named dude in a X-Wing flight suit whose face you never saw, but it was new footage. It didn’t hurt that the game was pretty good as a rail shooter. It was LucasArts’ first CD based game, and it was extremely popular, which helped kickstart the Star Wars renaissance of the mid 90’s. Without it, there never would have been a prequel series. Ok, don’t hold that against it, it’s still a fun game. So much so, they gave away demos on cereal boxes.
