Comic Book Redheads

Welcome to the Saturday Six, where each week I let you get to know me a bit better with the help of a list. Any idiot can do a Top 5 list, which is why I kicked it up a notch to a Top 6. This week’s topic: Comic Book Redheads

OK, I know I said last week’s list of Cartoon Redheads was ungoofable, but I done goofed. Josie and the Pussycats was an Archie comic long before it was ever a cartoon, so that leads to this week’s topic. And I promise, I’m all redheaded out, and will be moving onto something else entirely next week.

  1. Mary Jane Watson – When you think comic book redheads, you can’t help but go straight to MJ. She is the jackpot, afterall.
  2.

  3. Caitlin Fairchild – J Scott Campbell’s artwork for her is pretty much the reason I have the entire run of Gen 13.
  4.

  5. Jean Grey – This probably goes hands in hand with my love of Cyclops. And she’s pretty much the most powerful telepath ever, when she’s not crazy or evil or a clone or dead.
  6.

  7. Red Sonja – Another series that I haven’t read a great deal of, but I just love the artwork on all the Dynamite covers. She somehow manages to make a metal bikini seem practical.
  8.

  9. Dawn – While she’s pretty much relegated to the dollar boxes these days (it’s how I came across her), Joseph Michael Linsner sure makes some pretty paintings. She was a goth chick back before Hot Topic even existed.
  10.

  11. Black Widow – I’m all for anything that leads to Scarlett Johansson ending up in a catsuit.
