CZW’s Dojo Wars 4 Results

Last night was the last Dojo Wars before next weekend’s big WSU United / CZW New Heights double feature. Instead of the usual 5 matches, we actually got sixth matches, which included more rematches, a Wired TV Championship match, and a six man elimination tag team main event.

So this week marked the release of the new Michael Bay Transformers movie. I honestly couldn’t care less. I used to be a huge Transformers fan back in the day. But while Michael Bay and his explosive movies may have soured me, I think everyone can agree that the original 80’s cartoon was chock full of craziness and awesome characters and can never really be duplicated, no matter how many times Hasbro tries.

To celebrate their first decade of comic book publishing, Dynamite Entertainment launches its first ever Humble Bundle promotion which will allow fans to purchase over 120 digital comics books and graphic novels (the largest Humble Bumble comics collection in history) at a cost of each person’s choosing, granting existing and new fans significant purchasing power. In keeping with the tradition of promotions hosted and arranged by Humble Bundle, Dynamite will contribute a portion of the proceeds to three important charitable organizations, the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The other day I caught Not Another Teen Movie on cable. It reminded me of the awesomeness of the teen comedy renaissance of the late 90’/early 00’s. While it was ushered in by such great movies like She’s All That, Clueless, and Can’t Hardly Wait, I would actually contend that those movies that came out after the groundbreakers of the reemergence of the genre were actually much better.

This week’s Dojo Wars matches include a rematch from last time, 3 other singles matches, and a crazy 8 person intergender elimination tag team match for the main event.

Dawn/Vampirella #1 is the historic crossover series being released from Dynamite this September! Not only is this Dawn’s FIRST ever crossover, but this series also celebrates the 25th anniversary of Dawn and the 45th anniversary of Vampirella! And as icing on the cake, this series is written and drawn by Dawn creator Joseph Michael Linsner!

As a nerd, we’re pretty much hard wired to love green skinned women. Be they alien, reptilian, cyborg, robot, amphibian, gaseous, energy, or some form of “other”, green skinned girls abound in the worlds of science fiction.

I’m fairly certain this is my biggest Take It Or leave It yet. No really strong recommendations either way this week, but I did manage to get 6 books in, reviewing Superman/Wonder Woman #9, All New X-Men #28, Star Trek Ongoing #34, The Blood Queen #1, Figment #1, & WWE Superstars #5.
