Topps Finest 2020 WWE Hobby Box Break

Unboxing, Wrestling on April 10, 2023 at 5:15 pm by

While this set is certainly of improved cardstock quality and very shiny, I certainly wouldn’t call it Topps Finest when some asshole graphic designer put dark text over a dark background so the fronts are almost impossible to read.

Is it bad if I’m now to the point that I’m getting duplicates on signatures and inserts? That seems like maybe I have too much stuff. But yet, still not a single kiss card.

Because I am a completionist, I must open something from every Road to WrestleMania set I can get my hands on. This time it’s a hanger box for WrestleMania 34.

Not a ton of cards here, or any inserts, but it’s fun to remember when the cruiserweight title and 205 Live were things people actually cared about.

Topps 2012 WWE Heritage Hobby Box Break

Man, I love the aesthetics of these sets themed on old baseball cards. But Jebus, were my insert pulls really bad.

I hope you like not even the Nexus, but the Corre. Who am I kidding, no one liked the Corre.

This event had 16(!) damn matches and was over 7.5 hours long including the pre show. I can really only remember two of them at most, so yeah. I can see why now after this one it’s now split into two nights. Thanks Covid!

Even though this set was based on the 2019 WrestleMania, it has cards going as far back as 2017. That’s a long winding road, indeed.

Topps 2021 WWE Chrome Hobby Box Break

Unboxing, Wrestling on March 13, 2023 at 3:57 pm by

Forgive me for thinking a cardset named WWE Chrome would be filled with Chrome cards. It was not. These are basically the same as the Topps Finest set, but perhaps a bit shinier. I see now why they lost the license.

I don’t know why the Random Number Gods keep giving me Candice LeRae inserts, but I’m not gonna complain.

This is the oldest of the WWE card boxes I have I have. Besides the awesome design, I highly recommend this one for watching me stuff my face with 15 year old gum. Because I am nothing if not consistent, if I open a box and it has something edible in it, I eat it. Clearly I didn’t die. Yet.

2022 Panini WWE Impeccable Hobby Box Break

Unboxing, Wrestling on February 27, 2023 at 4:01 pm by

I still don’t understand this set or it’s target audience at all, since getting the base set seems impossible and would cost at minimum over $18000. However, Panini America just released yet another set just like it, but without the bars of silver and focused more on t-shirt and other memorabilia. Regardless, $500 for 5 autographs, a chance at a silver bar, and three other rando basic cards doesn’t seem all that good to me.

I mean, what even am I supposed to do with a 1 once bar of silver glued to a picture of Nikki Bella anyway?

I took a week off because I was sick, but now I’m back with this third go around on the 2019 WWE Women’s Division Cards, but this time with a full Hobby Box, so exclusive subsets and two box hits guaranteed. I may still be angry about the sportsball game yesterday, but I always enjoy me a good set of Diva cards, even if my insert no longer even works there anymore.
