Saturday Six – Pop Culture Bunnies

To Captain's Log

So with tomorrow being Easter, I figured today would be a good time to go over rabbits, seeing as I’ve already done cats, dogs, and mice. What does a giant rabbit have to do with Easter, let alone chocolate? The hell if I know. But just remember, over there, that’s just a guy in a suit. Also, the one at the Menlo Park mall is more convincing.

Saturday Six – Acronyms

As nerds, we tend to take things to excessive extremes. Be it memorizing Pi to as many places as we can, to being able to name all the James Bond films in order, or being able to name every Spider Man comic series ever published. Our heads are full of useless information. But I think the most pointless inane thing in my head is a knowledge of the full name of several acronyms. Why do I know that on Knight Rider the Knight Industries Two Thousand fought his evil enemy Knight Automated Roving Robot? I don’t know why. But I do. And that makes me a nerd. The same goes for knowing all the entries below.

Saturday Six – Things I Learned Getting a Kidney Stone

So this week isn’t really going to be nerdy or funny, at least not the type of funny I try to be with these things. Content has been lighter than usual the last few weeks, and I wanted to explain why. I also hope that maybe this is a little bit informative. If not, whatever, laugh at my pain. But be warned, this is a pretty personal and disgusting entry, so of course I have to share it with the entire internet.

CZW’s Dojo Wars 22 Results

This week was crazy, having not one, but two bonus matches. The extra matches really help with the flow of the evening, meaning the main event doesn’t have to be a crazy multi man elimination match to fill time, so I hope they consider doing it more often. That’s just $0.71 a match, where else are you gonna get that? With two title matches even! Most episodes of Smackdown don’t even have seven matches. On the down side, apparently ring announcer Emil J was MIA, so we got Larry from The Three Stooges instead, hence why some matches have no belltime. And now, on to the action.

CZW’s Dojo Wars 21 Results

This week was the shortest and most straight forward edition of Dojo Wars yet, probably to make up for last time’s excessive run time. It worked out well, as there’s no insane long multi-person matches, just straight up action, without a lot of fluff. There were two title defenses though, and “Alphabet Guy” finally debuted with a steady name, which kind of bums me out, as we were just hitting the complicated letters. I wanted to know what “V” would have been! My Guess? Vivacious Victor. Followed by Wistful William, Xtreme Xavier, Youthful Yancy, and Zesty Zach. But alas, those were not to be.

Saturday Six – Teachers

If there’s one thing everyone has in common, it’s the experience of going to school. We all have had a whole slew of teachers in our lives. Most of them were perfectly serviceable and followed their lesson plans just fine. Some of them sucked terribly and should never be allowed near children. But there were a few who excelled at the position, who went above and beyond, and whose wisdom will always stick with you. This list is dedicated to those teachers who never get the recognition they deserve.
