Mortal Kombat X Koming 2015
Everyone’s favorite ultra-violent fighter is coming back, and on next-gen consoles for the first time. It’s been 3 years since the last Mortal Kombat graced our screens (and by graced, I really mean sprayed blood all over), but it seems we’re just one more year away from mutilating our friends and enemies alike all over again.
Set for release on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC, “Mortal Kombat X combines cinematic presentation with all new gameplay to deliver the most brutal Kombat experience ever, offering a new fully-connected experience that launches players into a persistent online contest where every fight matters in a global battle for supremacy,” as stated in the official announcement. Also promised are brand new characters alongside the classics, and a new system where different versions of the same character will see changes in fighting style and strategy. Makes sense, I suppose, especially if these different versions are drastically so, instead of mostly wardrobe changes.
While not much else has been said about the game for now, the folks over at NetherRealm Studios were cool enough to include a trailer with the announcement . . . and it’s set to rap music, for whatever odd reason. Anyway, enjoy:
