Friday Five – Same Sex Celebrity Crush
Friday Five on March 21, 2014 at 12:00 pm by JohnScottOk, this one is inspired by from Troy’s (Donald Glover’s) last episode of Community. It was a pretty forgettable moment in the show, but I couldn’t forget it and decided to run with it this week.
Really, this list could just be all the male members of the MCU. But I’ll try to vary it up a bit.

Friday Five – Favorite Space Ships
Friday Five, Star Trek, Star Wars on March 14, 2014 at 1:32 pm by JohnScottWho hasn’t dreamed of flying through the stars? If you’re here reading this, probably you! Space is too majestic to not want to explore. It is the final frontier after all! There are plenty of games, movies, shows, and books that help us feel like we’re there. While they may not always be accurate, space exploration is the dream! This is my tribute to my favorite space fairing ships.
What good is a hero without an awesome villain? The black to their white. The yin to their yang. The chaos to their order. The perfect villains are those that are diametric opposites to our hero, to shed some darkness into the light of the hero and remind them why they do what it is they do. This is my tribute to my favorite enemy pairings.

IDW adapting Harlan Ellison’s version of “City on the Edge of Forever” to new comic miniseries
Comic Books, Star Trek on March 6, 2014 at 11:27 am by JohnScott“City on the Edge of Forever” is one of the greatest episodes of Star Trek, let alone television, ever produced. But there has been controversy surrounding it since day one. Harlan Ellison’s original teleplay was rewritten so many times, that only two of his lines made it from script to screen. Now, for the first time, Harlan’s original version is being presented to a mass audience in the form of a comic book miniseries from IDW. Read the full details after the jump.
I’m going a little out there this week, normally you’d see me listing things like favorite characters or situations, but this week I went crazy obscure with my Favorite Numbers!

My personal experience with “The Luther” Burger
Food, Friday Five on February 21, 2014 at 3:20 pm by JohnScottSince today’s Friday Five was all about Burgers, I thought I’d republish this piece about me eating a Luther, rather than send you to its original location on my old livejournal. Come watch me stuff my face full of meat!

Friday Five – Favorite Burgers
Food, Friday Five on February 21, 2014 at 3:10 pm by JohnScottMy taste in burgers can pretty much be summed up by Ron Swanson – “It’s a hamburger made out of meat on a bun with nothing. Add ketchup if you want, I couldn’t care less.” If you put quality meat on a bun and don’t cook the shit out of it, it’s delicious. Since, as I’ve discussed before, I can’t handle ketchup or mustard, I don’t get a lot of fast food burgers, so I went a bit out of the box on my picks.
