I was a little busy this week, so I didn’t get the chance to read a whole lot of new stuff this week. but what I did manage to get through (Ame-Comi Girls #5, Secret Avengers #1, and Uncanny X-Men #1) was all quite enjoyable and well above my expectations, which for this set of books was pretty low. I was pleasantly surprised however at the quality of everything this week, which is out of character for me, as I’m usually a cynical old man who hates change, and everything I picked is some type of reboot or re-imagining.

It’s a pretty light week here at the Take It or Leave It. I only picked up two Avengers books, Avengers #5 and New Avengers #3.

I’ve been remiss the last few weeks, what with holiday vacations, then getting sick, and then work, but I managed to get a few things (Star Trek: Countdown To Darkness #1, Mars Attacks The Transformers, and A + X #4) read this week, and the first one literally made my eyes bug out of my head when I read it, I had to recommend it.

Well, seeing as this week is the week of Christmas, there’s not a whole lot of new stuff out this week. In fact, there’s pretty much just one book that comes out that’s of any importance (Amazing Spider-Man 700), so lets just get right to it. Oh yeah, there be spoilers ahead, so you know, read on with caution. . .

Finally, an early dismissal for the holiday means I actually have time to write one of these. Unfortunately, the holiday also means it’s a pretty light week. I only picked up three books (Star Trek Ongoing #15, Indestructible Hulk #1, and Captain America #1). I however have been enjoying the new Marvel NOW! far more than I ever expected to, even on characters whose books I’ve never read before.

I had a very light week this week, with almost all my regular books being a middle issue of a mini series, so I only really have one thing to that’s reviewable (Avengers vs. X-Men: Consequences #2).

Last night Zenescope threw a launch party to show off the results of their successful Kickstarter campaign, and debut the nearly finished Grimm Fairy Tales Animated pilot. I made the trek up to Times Scare in the heart of Times Square to see it. How was it? Read on and find out!

I’m still recovering from my “vacation” to the west coast for ComiKaze, and as such I’m a week behind, and last week was a pretty big week. Therefore, I only have a few things for this week. That and a bunch of things I bought for this week turned out to be reprints of old stuff, so all I have that is new is a few New 52 #0’s (Supergirl #0, Justice League #0, and Catwoman #0)
