Resident Evil – Video Games, Movies . . . TV Series?
Constantin Film, the production company behind the Resident Evil movie series, has announced that the franchise will move to the small screen some time after the next (and presumably last) movie is released, fittingly titled Final Chapter.
Not much else is known about this new direction, other than that it’s currently in production and seems to be referred to as a spinoff; what kind of spinoff, however, is anybody’s guess . . . but I’m hopingĀ it means less Matrix style action, more following the original plot and doing the established characters justice. It will also be quite some time before we see Final Chapter, as it has been delayed due to lead actress Milla Jovovich becoming pregnant.
Still, we won’t have to wait too long to get some more Resident Evil goodness, as Revelations 2 was recently announced to be an episodic title, as well as an updated version of the previously Nintendo console exclusive remake of the first game – considered to be one of the best and scariest entries in the nearly 19 years of the series – coming to most modern platforms some time in 2015.
One new and final movie, two new games, and a TV series are all coming soon for one of the longest running titles in modern gaming; the question is, which one are you most interested in?
