First Official Gotham trailer

Television on May 5, 2014 at 10:32 pm by

Fox just released the first official trailer for this this fall’s new show, Gotham. This actually looks pretty awesome. So long as it doesn’t go like the last Batman TV show, Birds of Prey, which was good but horribly managed by the WB, this ought to be pretty exciting depending on where they put it on the schedule. Check out the full trailer after the jump.

You know you were a child of the 80’s or 90’s when just hearing the words “Je suis la jeune fille” brings back a flood of memories of Muzzy. Those Muzzy commercials seemed be be everywhere for a good 10 years. Everyone knew the commercials by heart, but no one I knew ever actually had it. Whatever happened to Muzzy? Well it turns out he never really went anywhere, just adapted. And by the way, “Je suis la jeune fille” means “I am a young girl”.

So this weekend is the big release of Amazing Spider-Man 2. It looks like it might be pretty OK, but I’m not running out to see it immediately like I was with Captain America. Regardless, in honor of the new film, I’m picking my favorite Spider Man villains this week.

Well, this ought to we a easy week, as I only ever had 6 consoles in my life. I’ll leaving out my Wii, as I haven’t turned it on in 3 years, and all I ever did with it was hack it into a NES emulator to play Bad News Baseball.

Friday Five – Worst TV Series Finales

Friday Five, Television on April 11, 2014 at 11:37 am by

I already listed my favorite TV Series finales. Now, it’s time for my least favorite TV Series finales. Check them out after the jump!

Why is it so hard for a TV show to stick the landing and have a satisfying finale? Endings are tough, and contradictory by nature. It should provide enough closure, yet still be open ended to give the sense that these people have their own lives, and possibilities still await for them in the future. A good conclusion should reward us, the viewer, for choosing to spend our time with the characters of a show and give a meaning to our shared experience. A good finale should show that the people we first saw in the pilot episode have grown and changed, along with us, as we watched them. And most importantly, while it should show that characters changed, don’t change them fundamentally just for change sake. Any changes should be organic, and not an attempt to be clever.

Friday Five – Celebrity Crushes

Friday Five on March 28, 2014 at 1:07 pm by

Ok, so in a bold move, I’ve decided to jump from same sex celebrity crushes to. . . opposite sex celebrity crushes.

I basically already did this in the Zombie Apocalypse list, but I’ve made some slight adjustments.
