For this week’s Take It Or Leave It, I examine the first issue of this summer’s mega Marvel crossover, Infinity . It’s the biggest Infinity crossover since Gauntlet, War, Crusade, and Abyss. It’s so Infinite it doesn’t even have to be an adjective!

Friday Five – Power Rangers Villains

Friday Five, Television on August 16, 2013 at 2:03 pm by

I generally like my Big Bads to have some real motivation, and an ongoing story for why they feel the need to antagonize the Rangers, besides just having a Gargamel Complex and being one note characters. They need to be more than the guy (or gal) who plays the villain week in and week out because thats what the plot required so their characterization and motivation changes from week to week. I like consistency and character growth, which you should be able to see in most of my picks.

This week on Take It or Leave It, I examine All New X-Men #15, where things get romantic between young Beast and young Jean Grey.

Friday Five – Favorite Zords

Friday Five, Television on August 9, 2013 at 12:33 pm by

Who wouldn’t want to control a giant transforming robot? And not only do they transform, they combine with other giant robots to become bigger and more badass! No one, that’s why everyone loves the Power Rangers and all their Zords.

So this week I pick my favorite Zords. One catch: No megazords, just individual Zords this week.

This month marks the twentieth anniversary of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers debut. So every Friday this month, the Friday Five is going to be Power Rangers related in some way, shape, or form. For my first entry on the theme, I’m going to pick my team of favorite rangers.

I didn’t really have the time to do my usual thorough research on this topic like I normally do, so here’s an off the top of my head list of series that when I watch always make me think “Oh wow, this totally came out in the 90’s!

Friday Five – Spin-offs

Friday Five, Television on July 12, 2013 at 2:26 pm by

Many times producers will try to spin off their breakout star into their own series to milk that cash cow a little bit. Many times it doesn’t work, and you end up with The Tortellis, Golden Palace, Three’s A Crowd, Vinnie and Bobby, or Joey (Man, Matt LeBlanc was lucky he got Friends, wasn’t he?). But sometimes, a spin off ends up working out OK, or often times, surpasses it’s originating parent show.
