When it was announced two weeks ago, we said we’d remind you when the day came, so here we are. You can get yourself a free Level 100 Legendary Deoxys for your copy of Pokémon Black 2 or Pokémon White 2 starting today, up through May 31st. It’s pretty easy to claim. You’ll need your DS, your game copy, connection to Wi-Fi, and no more than 11 Wonder Cards in your possession.

Pop your game into your DS and turn that sucker on. Then, when your game starts, select “MYSTERY GIFT”. Select “RECEIVE GIFT”, and confirm “YES” to open a channel. When the channel is open, select “GET VIA NINTENDO WFC”, and again confirm “YES”. Boom! There you go, free Deoxys! Be sure you have a free slot in your party, then speak to the deliveryman at any Pokémon center to pick him up and add him to your party. And don’t forget to save your game.

If that was too much words, and you need pretty pictures, you can follow the visual instructions over at the Pokémon website.

VWho doesn’t love Pokémon? Who doesn’t love legendary Pokémon? Who doesn’t love free legendary Pokémon. Who doesn’t love free level 100 legendary Pokémon? No one, that’s who!

Starting May 8th through May 31st, Nintendo is giving away a free legendary Deoxys via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. You can get him for any of your Gen V games of Pokémon Black 2, Pokémon White 2, Pokémon Black, or Pokémon White. I’ll be sure to remind you in about this in two weeks, including more details on how to actually claim him for your team.

Update:
You can read the instructions for how to claim your Deoxys here

Friday Five – Frustrating Games

I think screaming bullshit, and declaring that the computer is a liar and a dirty cheater is a universal experience for all gamers. While it’s usually not true that the game is actively screwing with you, some games seem designed to punish players rather than entertain them.

You’ve probably noticed my output has been a little low of late. Well, I’m here to explain at least some of that. You see, a few weeks ago I stumbled across this incredibly addicting Facebook game, Avengers Alliance. And if my Raptr profile is to be believed, I’ve been playing it nearly 30 hours a week since then, and for that I apologize. But if you can control yourself (which I obviously cannot), and are looking for a fun little casual game to play on Facebook, I highly recommend you check this game out.

So I’ve talked about a few other big anniversaries in gaming of late, but I think this one may be the biggest. Besides Mario, Final Fantasy is the largest retro gaming console series. To celebrate the franchise’s 25th anniversary, SquareEnix is releasing a massive 13-game box set.

If you have a ton of disposable income, (about 1.2 million dollars worth), you can own just about every console game ever made by Nintendo, Sega, and NEC.

Friday Five – Boss Fights

A good game should culminate in an epic final showdown. You just spent your whole playtime defeating armies of no named enemies, and now it’s time to finally come face to face with the leader of their evil machinations.

I haven’t actually played a lot of games you can “beat”. Well, at least not to completion. I kinda suck at video games.
